Accelerated Reader, also known as AR, is a program we use here at Chickasaw to monitor students' reading comprehension. Students read AR books, take comprehension tests on the computer, and then earn points toward a grade level goal. Students are expected to meet at least the minimum goal listed in the table below each grading period. Students who attain this goal will be invited to attend an AR celebration. Students also earn "brag tags" that go along with our yearly reading theme based on the number of points they earn. A percentage of 80% or better is needed in order to earn the goal and/or the brag tags.
Please help support your child by following up on their nightly reading and ensuring that they are taking AR tests. Let's work together so that all children can be successful!
